The perfect weapon Thursday, January 31, 2008 |

I have been playing Call of Duty 4 online for about 2 weeks now. I believe I'm pretty addicted to it, despite the fact that I don't feel it is as solid a game as Team Fortress 2 as multi-player gameplay goes (I play/love a lot of TF2.) Why do I have these strange urges to play COD4 instead of the jewel that is TF2? It's all in the leveling.
I never was strongly drawn to the infernal level grinding that is WoW or Everquest, but having enjoyed both; Elder Scrolls:Morrowind and Oblivion, grinding is nothing 100% foreign to me (shut up). Anyway COD4 has leveling AND the fast paced action my TV-mind so craves. So, Infinity-ward are evil-fucking-geniuses, so if they EVER make an MMO don't buy it, lest you be slaves. I'm going to go play Call of Duty now.

Hi my name's Barett. I'm supposed to do the art for The Interlands comic. What are The Interlands you ask? Well, as I like to see it they are the lands of the internet. There are for the most part, demographics and groups of people who occupy The Interlands regularly.
The internet is one of many many things. Sometimes a place for people; to act like an asshole anonymously, sometimes to play games, sometimes to trade ideas. At times these three main things overlap.
Today, I ran across one who plays games and acts like an asshole anonymously. All I did was make fun of his spelling. Next thing I know he's telling me to "eat a dick" (which would be cruelly painful for whichever poor bastard.) He called me a 'queer-ass' and started team-killing me.
The only image that can really come to mind of what this guy looks and acts like is akin to the angry German kid who really fucking wants to play Unreal Tournament. He obviously couldn't think of anything clever to say aside from homophobic-slurs and uncreative swearing. This guy is named "Timbo" and he plays Call of Duty 4, so if anyone who reads this and plays COD4 online, shoot that bitch.

Welcome to The Interlands! |

Although you are likely already well acquainted with this space, I think we may have something more to offer.

This blog is the start of new beginnings, a genesis, if you will. My cohort and I will be creating a comic, based on the weird happenings that, well, happen when we get together.

The comics will feature video games, photography, ranting (lots of ranting) and basically commentary on anything we deem interesting (which is what the internet deems interesting, really)

Settle in, don't be bothered by the template that happens to look like we are owned by British Telecom either. It just worked for our needs at the moment. STAY TUNED!
